Mardi Gras on a Saturday Night

Eric Lindell and his six piece band brought in a huge crowd Saturday night who danced to its rollicking New Orleans sound that's seasoned a wee bit with reggae and other influences, including the movie "Easy Rider."  The group covered that flick's "Don't Bogart That Joint," an inspired choice nobody expected in a million years.

The group--including two sax players who have also worked with the Iguanas and Walter "Wolfman" Washington--was fresh off an appearance on Conan O'Brien's show the night before.

Maybe bring these guys back to the Narrows Festival for the Arts at the end of the summer?  What do you think?

Not only do I currently have a very serious hard-core addiction to "Low on Cash~Rich in Love", but the live performance had me dancing on the back pew for the entire evening. Tight band, soulful voice, I have not been touched this way since my first Springsteen concert in '77 - the intrinsic knowledge of knowing you were witnessing something about to take off. As easy as it is to hear the many musical influences in this music, there is no easy way to define it. Sad to say, there seem to be no other Northeast performances planned for this band in the near future. Please bring this band back soon before they are discovered by the rest of the world and the opportunity to see him in a great intimate space like NCFTA is no longer possible.

2 great nights at the Narrows last weekend: Fri night with NRSP was like being on a freight train- slow starting, frequent stops, but once they got going they just kept chuggin' on and on. Eric Lindell the next night was like zooming around on a motorcycle. Excellent band. Bring Eric back for the Narrows fest? yes, yes - "A million percent" - yes!

Probably one of the best shows and best times I have seen or had in a good long time. This was our first visit to the Narrows and we will most definately be back! And yes Eric Lindell should definately be back for Narrows Fest!

Eric Lindell is infectious as can be seen by reading previous comments! I have been to several shows at the Narrows and I have not seen more foot stomping, dancing reverberating at the Narrows before this evening! Can't wait to see Eric Lindell again! Oh yeah don't forget it was the Narrow's that brought him here to New England! Thanks Narrows!
